Earlier this month, Rags2Riches, Inc., a social enterprise that creates high-end designer bags and home accessories launched their Fall/Holiday collection designed by Amina Aranaz.

Berns, Lex and I trooped over to Powerplant Mall at Rockwell in Makati to check out their latest stuff, and to congratulate the R2R team.  Berns and I gaped over the bags, while Lex (ever the sociable one), mingled with the other launch attendees.  It was especially heartening to see the pink shirt-clad Payatas nanays (mothers), buzzing with excitement over the unveiling of their creations.

R2R not only benefits your very own designer bag aesthetic, but the livelihoods of the women in the Payatas community that create these bags.  And—for the entire month of October, 10% of sales goes to the typhoon victims.

Oh, did I also mention that we’ve been working on their new website?  We’ve been working with some of our favorite theme-ers and programmers in Cebu for the all-new R2R website.  Hopefully, we’ll be able to post news on this very soon.
